Talking about your sex life can be difficult. But it’s also one of the best ways to make it better.

If you’re having difficulties in your sex life or just want to be able to communicate more openly about sex with your partner, Sex Therapy can help.

What is Sex Therapy?

Most of us will have an issue in our sex life at one point. Dealing with problems without any help can be frustrating and upsetting.

Sex Therapy can help you to work through any issues you might be facing so you can begin to enjoy sex again.

What sort of issues can Sex Therapy help with?

  • Having a different sex drive to your partner
  • Feeling like you’re stuck in the same routine
  • Problems with getting aroused
  • Feeling like you aren’t having enough sex
  • Issues with premature or delayed ejaculation
  • Difficulties with orgasm
  • Painful sex
  • A lack of enjoyment or interest for one or both partners

People attend Sex Therapy for lots of reasons. Whatever the issue, your counsellor will not judge you.

What happens next?

You will firstly speak with one of our friendly First Voice team who take time to establish the best service for you. Once you feel ready they will talk through arranging a suitable appointment.

First Session

You will be seen by a dedicated member of our team at one of our offices. During this, your therapist will ask you to discuss any issues you’d like to address, before talking about the best way forward.

If you’re in a relationship, it’s useful if you come with your partner, as many sexual issues stem from issues present in the relationship itself. If your counsellor thinks Sex Therapy would be appropriate, you’ll begin to see your therapist regularly. At the end of sessions, they’ll give you some exercises to try out in the privacy of your own home.

Although some people find Sex Therapy can feel a little awkward at first, your therapist will support you and help you to feel as comfortable as possible.

Our counsellor was sensitive and understanding. She listened to what we had to say and gave us some really useful practical tips.
