We have just launched our exciting new project - "The Right Angle", funded by The Department of Education, which is designed to support children and young people in alternative provision.
We are looking for qualified children & young people's counsellors to provide counselling to the pupils in alternative provision, supporting them with their issues.
Who is the role right for?
The role would suit counsellors who can offer support to vulnerable young people and enjoy rising to challenge. We're looking for candidates who are:
- A qualified children & young people's counsellor
- Available to work at least one school day per week (6 hours)
- Interested in being part of a brand new pilot project

About the project:
We will be placing children & young people's counsellors in schools and communities to support children with issues they are facing. The child being supported will also receive private tutoring through our partner, The Tutor Trust. The aim of the pilot project is to deal with both the cause and symptoms of educational underachievement. TLC will also be offering the children and their families other support services, in a tailor-made therapy package.
The project is currently located across Stockport, Tameside, Trafford, Oldham and Rochdale.

Salary & Benefits:
In this unique role, we are looking for counsellors to work at least one day a week (6 hours) in a school or community setting, where they will be placed. However due to the strong interest in this project and dependant on counsellor's availability, we may be able to offer up to 20 additional counselling hours.
The salary is annualised, with counsellors receiving the same pay each month. This works out at £13.45 per hour and will be accompanied by a competitive benefits package, which includes:
- 1.5 hours of monthly individual clinical supervision, which you are paid to attend.
- Attend 12 x 2 hour seminars per year, you would be paid to attend 10 of these as this is required to keep your practice up to date. (There is a different topic each month)
- CPD allowance of £150 per year + 12 paid hours to undertake this
- Annual Leave allowance worked into your salary
