We are looking for Children & Young People's Counsellors to join our domestic abuse team.

Job Purpose:      

In this role you will deliver counselling to children and young people aged 5-18 years old who are struggling to manage and regulate their emotions leading to negative behaviours either in their intimate relationships or with parents/carers or siblings. This may include physical violence and/or coercive control. Most young people the role supports will also have witnessed and/or experienced some form of Domestic Abuse. The role aims to support the children and young people living with complex home lives and what they may be going through, by giving them a safe and confidential place to speak openly and express their feelings.

About you:      

You’ll be a Level 5 trained counsellor with specific training in working with young people and you’ll have at least one year’s experience of working therapeutically with Children and Young People. You’ll be able to work under your own initiative, managing your own time and caseload including making appointments and arranging initial meetings. Above all you’ll bring a positive, solution focused attitude.

 

Key Role Details:

  • Fixed term contract until 31st March 2023 with the possibility of an extension 

  • Part time post. Minimum of 12 hours a week with additional hours available. (Contract type can be agreed between parties through selection process)

  • £13.51 per hour with annual continued professional development allowance, annual leave entitlement and birthday leave

  • Location: We value the importance of flexible working. Our services are a hybrid of virtual and in person delivery. This role can be home based or in our Head Office. 

  • 1.5 hours of monthly individual clinical supervision

  • Living Wage Accredited Employer
