Due to the huge success of last year’s event, we are once again inviting communities and professionals from Greater Manchester to join us for an evening of food, drink, music and if last year is anything to go by… a lot of games and prizes up for grabs!

The Birthday Ball 2019, kindly sponsored again by Shoosmiths LLP, allows for us to raise awareness of our work and all donations go directly to supporting our existing services.

This event comes at just the right time for us, as we have a lot to celebrate from the past year! Including securing funding for a new project from The Department of Education to work alongside The Tutor Trust in piloting new ways of supporting young people in Alternative Provision. We were also commissioned by Greater Manchester Combined Authority to lead on the delivery of the Greater Manchester STRIVE contract which aims to empower communities through a volunteer-led intervention approach.

Our Michelle Hill, CEO stated:

“We’re really working hard to extend our services and ensure everyone has access to the relationship support they need, the events we run are actually integral to this. It allows us to raise awareness about what we do and raise donations which support the people and communities who need it most. Last year was really successful for us and we’re really grateful to Shoosmiths LLP for choosing to sponsor the event again. They’re a fantastic partner and a good culture fit for us, we couldn’t do it without them!”.

Sponsorship of the Ball for a second year running has been secured by Head of Family Law Manchester, Anita Shepherd. Anita has been engaging with our charity for quite some time and most recently joined our Board of Trustees. She stated:

“I’ve been working with TLC: Talk, Listen, Change for a number of years and I’m delighted Shoosmiths LLP is sponsoring The Birthday Ball for its second year. The charity does some amazing work, which is in line with Shoosmiths LLP and particularly our Family Law department, which aims to support people, often going through family breakdowns, which can be a really challenging time for them. Last year was fantastic and raised money for a cause which we’re aligned with professionally, but is also something I’m very personally invested in. I can’t wait to see what this year brings and I’m really excited to see this fantastic relationship continue to flourish”.

Last year, the ball notably raised thousands of pounds to support existing services and thanks to generously donated prizes, the majority of the evening saw a room full of 150 adults laughing, competing and playing games to win everything on offer. This year should be no different with the gifts and prizes rolling into the TLC office at a rapid rate. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Linked In over the next few weeks to see what's up for grabs!

The Ball will be hosted at Castlefield Rooms on 10th May 2019 and hosted for a second year running by TLC's favourite - Russ Morris from Heart Radio. For tickets, please contact Victoria Parkinson - This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
