Following on from setting out to strengthen our Board as we prepare for the launch of our 2025 picture, we’re happy to welcome Keith Mitchell and Luke Jno-Baptiste who will join us this month.

Each year our Trustee Board hold a Strategic Away Day which allows them to take a step away from the board room, reflect on the year that has passed and where the organisation needs to develop. In July 2019, a big discussion topic was the Board itself.

The Trustees identified that whilst our Board was relatively diverse, we still had some gaps to fill in order to be reflective of the Greater Manchester population and those who use our services. To make this happen, we very intentionally chose to go out to external recruitment for additional Board members with a view to:

  • Attract new people, with new ideas and experiences to the organisation
  • Strengthen the diversity of the Board
  • Increase the financial expertise of the Board

From this recruitment, we have five new trustees which includes four BAME professionals and two professionals who have never before sat on a Board.

We’ll be announcing the remaining trustees once they join the Board officially in May, but this month we’re welcoming…
