Closer magazine features an EastEnders storyline on CAPVA our Respect Young People's programme.
An October issue of Closer picked up on an EastEnders storyline that focused on Child and Adolescent-to-Parent Violence and Abuse (or CAPVA). The magazine also featured ‘Gemma’, a brave mum who shared her experience of CAPVA and how she turned things around with the support of our Respect Young People’s Programme.
Regrettably, CAPVA is largely unreported in the mainstream media. So, a big round of applause to Eastenders for shining a much-needed spotlight on the issue. And, of course, to Closer for covering the storyline, allowing Gemma to share her story and highlighting our work.
The more people are aware that support is available for CAPVA, the more we can collectively work towards a solution.

'It's great that EastEnders is running this storyline to make more people aware. There's so much shame around being in this situation, but I've learnt that it's so much more common than we think. Help is out there and things can get better.- Gemma, mum
