Children and Young People’s Support

Support for children and young people who have witnessed domestic abuse.

Support for children and young people who have witnessed domestic abuse.

Witnessing domestic abuse can have a profound yet sometimes invisible impact on children and young people.

We centre those who have been harmed in all the work we do. That’s why providing support for children linked to anyone on one of our behaviour change programmes is a key part of our services.

We work alongside children and young people to help them process what they’ve been through, make sense of their experiences, and learn how to build healthy relationships in the future.

How does it work?

We offer support to all children and young people whose parent, carer, sibling or partner is taking part in one of our behaviour change programmes.

Accessing this support is voluntary and at the discretion of the young person participating or their parent/guardian when appropriate.

Even if a young person declines to participate at first, our door is always open to allow them access to the support they need.

I like to show them that there is a future outside of what they’ve experienced. We show them they can have fun, try new things and see there’s something different and more positive ahead of them.

What kind of support do you offer?

We offer counselling services for young people who would benefit from talking one-to-one to a trained professional.

We also offer youth groups for young people to work through their trauma while engaging in activities with others who have had similar experiences.

You can find out more information about both services below.
