Young People’s Programmes

Supporting young people to end unhealthy behaviours in their relationships.

Supporting young people to end unhealthy behaviours in their relationships.

Ups and downs are normal in relationships, but if you know someone is causing harm, it may be time to reach out for help.

We offer two separate programmes that help young people develop a better understanding of safe, healthy and happy relationships.

Taking an impartial and non-judgemental approach, we help young people understand how their words and actions could be causing harm to others. We challenge their behaviours and encourage them to adapt more positive relationships with their peers, partners and family.

Jack is being more helpful at home, the difference in his attitude already is amazing — he is even having conversations with his brother. Tonight he is making dinner! The difference in the atmosphere at home is unbelievable.

We help young people manage feelings of anger and anxiety. Whichever programme they attend, they’ll always have:

  • A safe and confidential space to talk about their feelings
  • Support with their experiences and concerns
  • Encouragement to end unhealthy behaviours
  • Guidance to develop healthy forms of communication

The first of our programmes is RESPECT, aimed at improving relationships between young people and their parents/carers.

The second of our programmes is Encouraging Healthy Relationships, aimed at improving relationships between young people and their partners or siblings.

Find out more about each below.

We want young people and their caregivers to better understand themselves and each other. We aim for both to develop a method of communication that is safe and healthy.

We want to ensure young people find a path towards ending behaviours that cause stress or harm to their caregivers.

The programme is suitable for young people aged 13 – 19.

We also consider young people aged 10 – 12 and 20 – 21 on a case-by-case basis.

We always offer integrated support for our programmes that address unhealthy behaviours in relationships.

That means parents or caregivers will be supported by a qualified TLC staff member while their child is on the course.

The programme lasts for 12 weeks.

We currently offer RESPECT to residents of Manchester, Salford, Wigan, Stockport, Bury, Tameside, Oldham and Trafford.

We want young people to better respect their partners or siblings. We help them consider why their behaviours may be causing harm, and challenge them to change.
