Reflecting on a incredible day for our determined fundraisers, trekking 25 miles.
On Saturday 10th may, 20 brave and incredible TLC fundraisers set of on their journey. They gathered at 6:30am with their boots laced and backpacks on and headed for their first of three peaks. It turned out to be such a hot day reaching highs of 21 degrees, but that didn’t stop #TeamTLC.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks (Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough) are one of the UK’s most iconic walking challenges. Our participants knew this challenge wouldn’t be a walk in the park. Each peak brought its own test seeming never ending, this huge feat physically and emotionally challenged the team across all 25 miles. Testament to this demanding hike, a few of our team bowed out before the finish line with illness/injury and some exceeded the challenge length by over an hour and a half, but they still battled through until the end!

From the very first step until crossing the finish line, we pulled together (as always for TLC) and supported each other as a team. We hope our fundraisers have gone into this week with a feeling of accomplishment, and telling anyone (that will listen) that you took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
The Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge for TLC: Talk, Listen, Change has been the very hardest thing I’ve ever done.
Every bit of me aches but I am so very proud of myself, of my husband Alex, and of our amazing TLC team.

This is our second fundraiser of 2025 the first being our 8th birthday cake sale and the third will be our annual skydive on the 7th September, we can’t wait to see how many people will take the leap of a lifetime.
