We’re delighted to announce that our CEO, Michelle Hill, was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year at the Manchester Young Talent Awards 2019.
The Manchester Young Talent Awards recognises young professionals’ talent and skills have been hosted by JCI Manchester for a number of years. The ceremony this year took place at The Midland Hotel, with over 400 professionals in attendance.
It was here that Michelle was recognised for her social leadership, as the founder of our charity and her entrepreneurial application to the non-profit sector.
Michelle founded TLC: Talk, Listen, Change in 2017, when we formally disaffiliated from a national organisation in order to become an independent charity, that could better serve local communities. The heart and soul of the mission was simple: create a charity that advocates for and supports people to have safe, healthy and happy relationships.
However, this is not always that easy. Since 2017, our charity has gone through its fair share of ups and downs but recently has began expanding at a quick pace, driven by Michelle’s entrepreneurial approach to social leadership.
Our Chair of Trustees, Mike Gaskell commented,
The savvy, creative and business-like attitude Michelle has taken to TLC has seen us buck the trend of most charities, putting us in a strong financial position. More importantly, this has created a successful, fast-paced organisation which is truly changing the lives of people across Manchester.
We’d like to thank JCI Manchester for hosting the awards, to Clarke Willmott for sponsoring this category and offer our big congratulations to all those both shortlisted and winning on the night.
We’ll perhaps see you in 2020!
