Transforming adult mental health support across Manchester, helping people thrive.

Manchester Living Well was developed in response to the growing demand for mental health services and the challenges many face accessing them. We’re proud to be part of this vital initiative.

Who we support

Through partnerships with various organisations, we work to find people meaningful opportunities to rebuild confidence and purpose. Living well has the goal of transforming mental health services for adults across Manchester, so this is who our work centralises around.

The importance of this programme

Rising demand for mental health services has led to record-high waiting times. In 2024, mental health referrals in England reached 457,917, marking a 35.3% increase compared to 2019. Integrating mental health, social support and charity services can help address this issue by enhancing patient outcomes, reducing hospital admissions, and providing comprehensive care that addresses both medical and social needs.

I sat with Sarah and offered her practical support. Together, we identified her goals, including managing anxiety and finances and advocating for her at meetings. We also focused on developing skills to manage the home, improve digital literacy, and access community services.

Living Well operates through three hubs. Each is staffed with clinical professionals and VCSE staff, including a TLC mental health link worker and a TLC volunteering worker.

Living Well brings together key workers from the charitable sector, clinical services, and social support networks. This multi-disciplinary approach ensures people receive not just medical treatment but also practical and emotional support to improve their overall wellbeing.
