The Right Angle

This project supports young people in alternative provision to help them achieve their full potential, by focusing on both their education and wellbeing.

This project supports young people in alternative provision to help them achieve their full potential, by focusing on both their education and wellbeing.

We have been running this project for over three years in partnership with The Tutor Trust.

This innovative approach to working with both the cause and effect of educational underachievement allows us to support young people in a holistic way, which considers the whole picture of their lives.

How does it work?

We work with a range of schools across Greater Manchester, to provide both counselling and tuition to students.

We create a bespoke package of support for each young person, as many of the young people we work with are in the care system, have complex needs or are facing circumstances that require specialist support.

Tuition, delivered by The Tutor Trust, gives young people one-to-one support with English, Maths and Science which helps them engage with their education.

Counselling, delivered by our children and young people’s counsellors, gives the young people a space to talk and addresses what they are going through.

Children in care have multiple needs, both academic and emotional. The Right Angle recognises this. My cohort of young people valued the time and support for their mental health and this in turn made them more resilient to the demands of the curriculum.

Children & Young People’s Counselling

We have years of experience delivering counselling to children and young people.

Counselling is a form of talking therapy, which helps young people to talk about what they’re going through and find ways to move forward.
