Our Greater Manchester project in collaboration with The Tutor Trust helps to support children and young people in alternative provision.
What is The Right Angle?
The Right Angle supports young people not in mainstream education to achieve their full potential. Working in partnership with tuition charity The Tutor Trust, we combine tuition and counselling into a bespoke package for each individual.
“Children in care have multiple needs, both academic and emotional. The Right Angle recognises this. My cohort of young people valued the time and support for their mental health and this in turn made them more resilient to the demands of the curriculum"
– Partner School, 2020
Since the launch of the service in 2018 as a two-year Department for Education funded pilot, we have worked with 252 young people. Our findings indicate considerable improvements in core subject scores and reading age tests, alongside significant improvements in psychological wellbeing.
We are delighted to have received funding to continue offering academic and therapeutic support this academic year and will be working in the following settings across Greater Manchester:
- Trafford High / Medical Education Service
- The Pendlebury Centre
- Highfields Pupil Referral Unit
- Tameside Virtual School (Alder, Mossley Hollins, All Saints, Droylsden)
- Rochdale Virtual School (Cardinal Langley)
If you represent one of these schools and wish to refer a pupil, you can access our online referral by clicking the button below:
