Anita has been practising as a solicitor for nearly 20 years and is currently Head of the Family Team at Shoosmiths LLP in Manchester.

As a trained collaborative lawyer and member of Resolution she is committed to promoting alternatives to court proceedings. Anita is passionate about achieving healthy and sustainable outcomes for her clients and is well known for her problem solving skills. She is renowned for her ability to devise solutions to what are often complex family disputes.    

Shoosmiths is a national corporate firm with 11 offices across the country and is renowned for its client experience. Anita is heavily involved in promoting Shoosmiths corporate responsibility and runs a family pro bono clinic at Manchester Civil Justice Centre assisting some of society’s most vulnerable. She also supervises and mentors law students at the Manchester University law clinic. 

Anita plays netball and loves reading and eating spicy food as well as being kept busy with her two sons who are keen footballers. This is Anita’s first trustee role and is looking forward to the challenges and new experiences the role will bring.
